Q: What is your Holiday Schedule and how does that affect my pick up?

A: At Allied Waste of Corvallis, our trucks run on all holidays except Thanksgiving, Christmas and
New Years. If your regular service day falls on one of these holidays, your trash, recycling or yard
debris will be collected on the day following the holiday. Service days will be one day later for the
remainder of the week. We do work on Saturdays during these three holiday weeks to make up
for the day off. Please have your carts out early or the night before, since your driver or a
substitute driver may come by earlier than usual during a holiday week.
Q: When should I put my trash/recycle out to ensure pick up?

A: Trash/recycle/yard debris must be out by 7:00 am on your day of service. Route times may
vary and collection may vary from week to week.
Q: What is the weight and quantity limit on my trash?

A: Unless otherwise contracted, your trash should not exceed *cart-content of regular household
trash or yard waste. For our drivers’ health and safety, we will not take containers that weigh more
than 60 pounds, which require manual lifting. Please contact our office for special arrangements
should your need exceeds the quantity and weight allowed.
*Cart-content - Allied Waste 90-gallon tote.
Q: How should I contain my trash?

A: Contained trash helps protect it from weather, insects and animals. Securely bagging your
trash helps keep your community neat on windy days.
Q: Does Allied Waste pick up Branches or Moving Boxes?

A: Branches and brush need to be cut into lengths that will fit in your yard debris cart so that
the lid will close. We will collect cardboard at the curb if it is flattened and placed in your
recycling cart. Excess cardboard should be brought to our depot on Industrial Way.

Q: What items are considered recyclable items?

A: Allied Waste is proud to be a leader in recycling. We accept most paper, cardboard, tin
and aluminum and plastic bottles, jugs, jars and tubs in the tan cart. Recyclables are
determined by reliable and available markets for the material collected. Please
see the recycling page for a complete list of products that can be recycled in our system.
Q: When does recycling occur?

A: For most areas, pick-up is every week on the same day as your trash pickup. Recycling
should be placed at the curb before 6a.m. on collection day.
Q: Where does recycling occur?

A: Please place your recycle carts at your curb by 7:00am 4 feet away from your trash cart, 6 feet
from basketball hoops and other obstacles, and 10 feet from you car. Be sure that the handle
faces toward the house.
Q: Why should I recycle?

A: To accept a personal role in the improvement of our environment and the conservation of
natural resources. Recycling is a loop. Not only is it important to put materials out for recycling,
but also to buy materials made from recycled products and create demand for these items.
Up to 70% more resources are used to make a product from virgin materials than are used to
create a new product from a recycled material.
Q: How do I Recycle?

A: Allied Waste’s Commingled Recycling allows you to mix together plastic, aluminum, paper,
cardboard and metal cans, (referred to as co-mingle). Recycling is collected in 65-gallon tan
carts that are picked up by an automated truck. They will be mechanically sorted at a material
recovery center for your convenience. Click Here
